August 12, 2012

The three, along with a fourth female friend who is wounded, had been sitting in a parked car on Harlem Street. Those killed include Kristen Lartey of Mattapan, who had just graduated from college; Genevieve Philip of Milton, who had just enrolled in a beautician school; and Sharrice Perkins of Dorchester, who had grown up on Harlem Street and been a member of the state championship double Dutch team. They are killed when a gunman fires several shots into the car, which is parked in front of Perkins’ home.
